Meet the Clergy

Our clergy play a crucial role in guiding and supporting our community. They dedicate themselves to spiritual guidance, offering wisdom, compassion, and pastoral care to those they serve. They lead our worship services, provide counseling, and act as a source of comfort and guidance during life's challenges. Through their knowledge, empathy, and commitment, our clergy members serve as pillars of strength, fostering spiritual growth and connection within our congregation.

Rector

The Rev. Fr. Roy Allison

A native of St. Petersburg, FL, Fr. Roy graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg with his B.A. in Business and a minor in Religion. He served in the U.S. Air Force, where was trained in morse code and a foreign language, and served as a SIGINT Multimode Signal Interceptor for DOD-Joint Operations Command at RAF Chicksands, UK, intercepting voice, morse and computer communications, including support of Operation Desert Storm. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Fr. Roy worked as both an EMT in Tampa, and for Caremark/Coram home health infusion pharmacy. It was during this time that he met his wife, Marcia, who worked at the same company. Fr. Roy was the Director of Operations for several adult and pediatric home health infusion pharmacies and medical equipment companies covering the state of Florida and the SE for 17 years. He and Marcia were both very active in Cursillo, youth ministry and foreign mission prior to Fr. Roy accepting the call to ordained ministry in 2009. Fr. Roy graduated cum laude with a M.Div. from Nashotah House Theological Seminary in 2012. Fr. Roy served as the Priest Assistant at St. Mary's in Bonita Springs, FL, as the Rector of St. Mark's in Tampa, FL, and was called to be the Rector of St. James in October, 2017. Fr. Roy and Dcn. Marcia have two grown daughters; the eldest lives in Morganton, NC, and the youngest lives in Oconomowoc, WI. Fr. Roy enjoys spending time on his boat and fishing, riding his Harley, and fun outings in his Jeep as the "Jeep Priest".

Priest Assistant

The Rev. Fr. Mike Brady

A native of Louisiana, Fr. Mike was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate in June 2019 and the Sacred Order of Priests in January 2020 in the Diocese of Texas. He left his cure as Vicar of the oldest African American Episcopal Church in the state of Texas, St. Augustine of Hippo–Galveston, founded in 1884 for him and his wife to move to Central Florida this past January, both for her job and for him to further his call to ministry. Fr. Mike is a former ‘bi-vocational priest’ and served as a Real Estate Agent in Houston. He spent 25 years as a corporate Human Resources director in his earlier life. He also served as a high school band and chorus director and worked in Pipe Organ Sales and Service early in his career. Fr. Mike has an undergraduate degree in Music and Education as well as a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Northeast Louisiana University. He also has his Master of Divinity from Newburgh Theological Seminary in Indiana and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Houston Christian University.

Deacon

The Rev. Marcia Allison

Deacon Marcia has been a member of St. James since October 2017 and was ordained to the Diaconate October 2021. She serves St. James in foreign mission opportunities, local outreach, and pastoral care needs. She is on the Executive Board for Family Renew Community, a local faith based organization that provides stable housing to working families in Volusia County. In her personal life, she works full-time as a nurse manager for clinical policies. Her passion is iconography and some of her work is shared in the chapel and sanctuary for an enhanced worship experience. She has commissioned pieces in 7 countries and throughout the United States. Meet the Staff

Our staff play a vital role in the day to day operations of the church. They work together to create an inclusive environment for all church members.

Director of Music

Quinn Moss

Quinn Moss, a native of Ormond Beach, enjoys sharing his love of music with others and uplifting people through song in worship. A classically trained pianist, Quinn earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Stetson University, where he also studied organ with Dr. Boyd Jones. He then went on to study at Georgia Southern University, where he earned his Master of Music degree. From there, he went to experience big city life in Washington, D. C. as a church music director, organist, piano accompanist, and piano instructor. After living there for four years, he decided to move back to Florida, and has been at St. James since August 2022. He is excited to grow the music program at St. James and to build new relationships in the parish.

Director of Youth and Families

Asti "Tuck" Tucker

Asti goes by "Tuck" and has extensive experience working with youth and running programs. A graduate of Mainland High School and Daytona State College, Tuck has been engaged in conditioning and coaching sports, specifically basketball, and has been a substitute teacher at Spruce Creek High School in Daytona Beach, and SE Bullock High School in Bulloch, GA. Tuck also has experience as an event organizer with the City of Daytona Beach, and has been a mentorship instructor for the Dr. Phillips YMCA Center in Orlando. Tuck is engaging, high energy, and a great organizer and communicator, and we are happy to have him on our team.

Data and Website Assistant

Erin Tollison

Erin is responsible for updating and maintaining our church website and Church Center database, making the weekly bulletins and sending out weekly electronic emails. Erin is a graduate of the University of North Florida, with a BA in English and a minor in Mass Communication. Erin is a pharmacy technician at Walgreens. When she is not busy working, Erin enjoys thrifting, listening to music, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. If you need something put in the bulletin or added to the website she will make that happen.

Meet the Vestry

Our Vestry is a group of elected lay leaders who work with the rector or priest to manage the affairs of the church. They are responsible for the financial management of the church, as well as the maintenance of the church building and grounds. The vestry also plays a role in decision-making for the church, including the hiring of staff and the development of programs and ministries.
